If you're in pain or have just had a dental injury, the first step is to call us at (480) 334-2752. Many "emergencies" can be relieved or stabilized quickly once we see what's going on.

- Broken, chipped, or cracked teeth
- Lost or loose filling, crown, or bridge
- Knocked-out (avulsed) teeth
- Facial or jaw swelling, especially with fever
- Bleeding that won't stop after an injury
- Soft-tissue injuries to the lips, cheeks, or tongue
What we'll do at the visit
Our first goals are to stop the pain, control any infection, and stabilize the tooth. We may take a focused X-ray, place a temporary restoration or sedative filling, prescribe antibiotics if there's infection, and schedule a follow-up to complete the definitive treatment.
Until you're seen
Rinse gently with warm water, use a cold compress on the cheek for swelling, and take over-the-counter pain relief as the label directs. Don't put aspirin directly on the gum. When to skip the dentist and go to the ER
Go directly to the emergency room (or call 911) if you have significant facial swelling that's affecting your breathing or vision, uncontrolled bleeding, a suspected jaw fracture, or any other life-threatening injury. Emergency Dentist FAQ
Anything that's bleeding, badly broken, knocked out, or causing significant pain. Also: swelling in your face or jaw, which can be a sign of infection that needs to be treated quickly.
Pick the tooth up by the crown (the white part), not the root. Rinse it gently if dirty, then either place it back in the socket or store it in milk and get to us within an hour for the best chance of saving it.
