Here's what to expect at your first appointment — and how to make it as easy as possible.
What to expect at your first visit
Your first visit is mostly about us getting to know you and your mouth. We block out extra time for new patients so nothing feels rushed.
- A real conversation about why you're here and what you'd like out of dental care going forward.
- A comprehensive exam — teeth, gums, bite, and soft-tissue / oral cancer screening.
- Digital X-rays as appropriate (we'll skip them if you've had recent ones we can pull).
- A cleaning, if your gums and time allow at the first visit.
- A clear summary of anything we found and a written treatment plan if work is recommended — no pressure to commit on the spot.
Before your appointment
- Bring (or upload ahead of time) your insurance card and a photo ID.
- List any current medications and major medical history.
- Bring a copy of any recent dental X-rays if you've been seen elsewhere in the last 1–2 years.
- If you have anxiety or have had difficult dental experiences before, tell us when you book — we'll plan accordingly.
Insurance & payment
We work with most major PPO dental plans. We don't yet directly bill HMO/DMO plans. For procedures your insurance doesn't fully cover, we offer Cherry financing and in-house payment options. See our insurance & financing page for details.
Patient forms
To save time on the day of your visit, we'll email you a secure new-patient intake form when you book. Please fill it out before you arrive.
